We’re a family-owned New Zealand company designing and making natural, sustainable furniture and learning environments that bring out the best in teachers and learners. Everything we make starts in our Redwood Valley workshop in the Nelson-Tasman region.
Started by the Woodman brothers in Redwood Valley with one simple belief: learning spaces should feel as natural and inspiring as the world outside.

2006 – today
From a Nelson workshop to classrooms nationwide
From one workshop in Redwood Valley to learning spaces across New Zealand and beyond, here’s how we got here.

Where it all began
In 2006 the Woodman brothers set up shop in Redwood Valley, crafting natural birch plywood furniture for early childhood centres, designed around how tamariki really play, explore and learn.

Into primary schools
As kaiako and principals saw what natural, flexible furniture could do, we took the same thinking into primary school classrooms, libraries and breakout spaces.

Every age, every stage
Our ranges grew to support learners at every stage, from early years through to secondary schools and tertiary, along with a full design, project management and installation service.

Giving back with Starship
Starship hospital changed our family’s lives. Our Starship Range turns that into a legacy for good. $10 from every piece goes to the Starship Foundation, with more than $10,000 donated so far.

Treedom takes root
Our sculptural acoustic tree, handcrafted from birch plywood and acoustic felt, brings calm to busy spaces and has become the centrepiece of libraries and classrooms around the country.

Beyond the classroom
Today we also fit out commercial and public spaces, from council libraries to offices and outdoor areas, bringing the same natural design to whole communities.

A growing team...
What began as a family workshop is now a team of designers, account managers, makers and installers. We’re still based in Nelson-Tasman, sending out furniture to learning spaces all around the world.
