Located in the Manawatū-Whanganui region of New Zealand’s North Island. Horowhenua Libraries set out to refresh their spaces, with the goal of creating a flexible, engaging environment for their community.
Working closely with the library team, we created a custom Peace n Play Workstation featuring space for three computer stations and a built-in play pen. Designed with parents in mind, the workstation was finished with acoustic leaves to help absorb sound and create a more comfortable library environment.
The second part of this project included two Mobile Book Browsers, featuring the same custom engraving as the Peace n Play workstation and fitted with castor wheels for easy movement throughout the library.
The result is a collection of durable, functional pieces tailored to the needs of the space, enhancing the library experience for visitors while makign the day-to-day use practical for the for the staff who look after Horowhenua Library.
“A huge thanks to the crew at LSG for supporting our project and being so flexible when we needed to change direction. If they hadn’t stepped in and questioned the wisdom of our original order, we would have been stuck with two huge workstations that would not have been suitable for our space. They really went above and beyond and saved us from a huge hassle in the long run. Their expertise meant that we ended up with products that will be highly valued and enjoyed by our community for years to come” – Libraries Horowhenua
